---Job and Career Information Sites

Introduction

The sites in this section will help you learn more about business careers and locate currently posted job opportunities. Also, many sites include extensive career information and guidance, such as interviewing techniques and resume-writing. For example, see our description of College View Careers.

For job searches, most sites allow you to enter key words or phrases for the job titles or categories you seek. Some general advice:

1. When you enter a search word or phrase, try different conjugations (ex. "finance manager" "finance management") or just enter the root of the word or phrase (ex. "manage" may cover "manager" or "management").
2. Each site has its own approach to defining your job search, so make it a habit to review the help section or search tips before you start looking for jobs.
3. Many sites allow you to search for jobs according to logical rules, using qualifiers such as "and" "or" "not" when entering keywords. If you place "and" between two or more words, only jobs which match all the keywords will be included. Inserting "or" between two or more words will yield jobs that contain any of the keywords. When you type the word "not" before a keyword, any job descriptions which include that word will be excluded.
