This chapter discusses an element vital to the effective performance of a project: communication. Communication takes place between the project team and the customer, among the project team members, and between the project team and its upper management. Communication may involve two people or a group of people. It can be oral or written. It can be face to face or involve some medium, such as phone, voice mail, e-mail, letters, memos, video conferencing, or groupware.
