John J. Coyle is Professor Emeritus of Business Administration and Director of Corporate Relations for the Center for Supply Chain Research at Penn State University. He served fro 30 years as the Faculty Representative to the NCAA and the Big Ten for Penn State. He holds a bachelor's degree and master's degree from Penn State, and he earned his doctorate at Indiana University, Bloomington, where he was a U.S. Steel Fellow. Dr. Coyle is the co-author of two best-selling textbooks, The Management of Business Logistics and Transportation. He was editor of the Journal of Business Logistics from 1990 to 1996. He currently serves on the editorial review board of Journal of Business Logistics, Supply Chain Review, and International Journal of Physical Distribution and Logistics. In 1991 Dr. Coyle received the Council of Logistics Management's top honor - the Distinguished Service Award.
Dr. Edward J. Bardi is Visiting Professor of Business Logistics at Penn State University, Principal of Bardi Consulting, and Professor Emeritus of Logistics and Transportation at the University of Toledo. Prior to joining the Penn State faculty, Dr. Bardi held faculty positions at the University of Toledo and Iowa State University. Dr. Bardi has served as a consultant to numerous businesses and public agencies in the areas of transportation, distribution, reverse logistics, private trucking, warehouse location and operation, marketing, business organization, and economic development. He is a popular seminar leader of transportation and logistics/supply chain management development programs. Dr. Bardi is a co-author of two textbooks, The Management of Business Logistics and Transportation. He has published numerous articles dealing with business logistics, transportation management, carrier selection, economic development, and employee household goods movement in various academic and professional journals.
C. John Langley, Jr. is Professor of Supply Chain Management and Director of Supply Chain Executive Programs in the School of Industrial and Systems Engineering and The Logistics Institute at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Previously, he served for 28 years at the University of Tennessee where he was the John H. "Red" Dove Distinguished Professor in Logistics and Transportation. Dr. Langley is a former President of the Council of Logistics Management, and was a recipient of the Council's Distinguished Service Award. Dr. Langley has co-authored several books, and his research publications have appeared in leading professional journals. In addition to his university duties, Dr. Langley actively consults with firms in the logistics profession. He also serves on the boards of directors of Averitt Express, Inc., and Landair Transportation, Inc., and on corporate advisory boards for several firms in the E-commerce business.
