News Story

Pottermania hit new heights with the July 2005 release of J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Over 9 million copies of the latest Potter book sold within 24 hours of the release, and the six-part series has sold over 270 million copies worldwide since Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone hit bookstores eight years ago.

While the boy wizard is a huge sensation, a distribution deal between giant-screen movie exhibitor Imax Corporation and Warner Bros. Pictures is set to make the boy wizard truly bigger than life. Imax has announced that the onscreen adaptation of the fourth Potter book, "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire," will open Thanksgiving weekend, 2005.

With crystal clear images up to eight stories high and rumbling digital surround sound, the Imax theater system delivers an unparalleled film experience to moviegoers. Imax's partnership with AMC Theaters has taken the "Imax Experience" to multiplexes all over the U.S., and the giant-screen theater chain is expanding into China and India. Imax scored top ticket sales earlier this year with "Batman Begins" and "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," and the film adaptation of "Goblet of Fire" is expected to set new box-office records for the Toronto-based movie theater company.

Questions
