News Story

Unable to find time to prepare a home-baked meal? General Mills feels your pain—and your hunger. The packaged-foods giant has recently announced a new line of pre-baked biscuits that are short on food prep and long on taste.

Served as a bread basket or side item, Pillsbury Frozen Baked Biscuits deliver fresh-from-the-oven taste, moist texture, and fresh-baked aroma. The biscuits come in a tray that can be baked right in the oven, and the packaged icing pouches allow for fast topping. Biscuits are available in Cheddar Garlic, Southern Style Cheese, Butter Tastin', and Home-style Honey Butter varieties.

More and more, convenient packaging is key to the success of new food products. Given consumers' hectic schedules, food items that come ready-to-eat or ready-to-heat are ideal. In addition, package containers that both pour and preserve contents are in high demand. And while food packaging has become quite sophisticated, industry watchers predict that the packets, pouches, cups, and lids of the future will provide a portability and ease-of-use unlike anything consumers have ever seen.
