News Story

A company's supply chain is a key part of managing costs. Managing labor and time within supply chain operations is critical because time is the one variable that is not renewable. One of the key strategies for wringing more time out of the supply chain involves the deployment of enterprise mobility solutions. Mobile devices can enable companies to capture critical information and instantly direct that data to the point of activity or decision-making, moving businesses closer to the ideal of real-time operations.

In today's increasingly complex information and competitive environment, businesses cannot afford to rely on traditional methods for managing the supply chain. The ability to capture, move, and manage information in real time affords manufacturers opportunities to compress all links in supply chain operations while benefiting from increased labor productivity and improved information accuracy.

Some organizations don't realize the complexity of the transactions that occur in their supply chains. Others are overwhelmed because they do realize the complexity of transactions and are challenged to integrate all manufacturing operations from "floor to door." Naturally, increased productivity and error proofing operations are important, and mobile computer devices give operators the ability to instantaneously retrieve real-time information and more easily obtain the materials they need to perform a given task.
