News Story

Costco is one of America's remarkable success stories. Having shown it can compete against the likes of Sam's, Target, and other mass merchandising operations, Costco is now about to roll out a new extension of its basic business model-the Home Warehouse.

The new Home warehouse idea is quintessential Costco. Using the same membership format as the traditional Costco warehouse, the Home warehouse offers low prices, quality merchandise and service in a setting reminiscent of nothing so much as a traditional Costco warehouse.

Costco's new home-related merchandise runs the gamut, offering furniture pieces and sets for every room and every type of house, along with an accessories assortment broad enough to complete a house. Outdoor furniture is part of the mix, as are furnishings for children. The brands on sale are familiar to anyone.

If the past is any indication, Costco's newest venture in the home furnishings market is likely to give the competition even more reason to be worrried.
