Chapter 2 Internet Exercise

EdgarScan is a service of the ABAS Technology Group of PricewaterhouseCoopers which provides free access to all filings made by public companies in the United States. The site can be accessed at http://edgarscan.pwcglobal.com/servlets/edgarscan. EdgarScan makes it easy to download financial statements directly into Excel with just a click of a button. Using your Internet browser, go to the EdgarScan Web site and enter a ticker symbol or company name into the appropriate box. Click the Search button to see a list of the filings that are available. In the list, click on the most recent Form 10K.

1. On the page that appears, click on the link for the Excel Spreadsheet for the Income Statement. This will either open Excel with the data loaded, or will save an Excel file to your disk.
   
   
2. Repeat Part a for the Balance Sheet.
   
   
3. Now, repeat problems 1 and 2 using the data for your chosen company.
