MICHAEL
P. ROCHE Mike Roche has moved into the position of Vice President and Team Director for the Business Law, Economics, Finance and Management Team at South-Western. Mike was previously the Vice President and Publisher at The Dryden Press. Mike brings 20 years of publishing experience with him. He began his career as a sales representative with Holt, Rinehart and Winston of Canada in 1980. After three successful years in sales, he began his editorial career as the business and economics editor for Canada. Mike moved to the United States in 1987 and has held a variety of marketing and editorial positions in his career while with The Dryden Press, Harcourt College Publishers, HarperCollins, and Pearson. Mike received a B.A. from the University or Prince Edward Island and a Masters degree from the University of Western Ontario. In his spare time Mike pursues the elusive muskellunge. [Back to Top] |

PETER
ADAMS Peter Adams became the Senior Acquisitions Editor for Economics in the fall of 2001, returning to South-Western after spending six years as the Philosophy and Religion editor at Cengage's Wadsworth Publishing Co., where he doubled the sales of that list. Prior to this, he was for three years a South-Westen rep and B&E specialist in the Northeast, and counts the signing of Mark Lieberman as one of the highlights of his time in the field. From 1984 to 1992, Peter was a rep and regional manager for Harper Collins, nee Harper & Row. Peter has a B.A. in Economics from Colby College, and his earlier career was in the military and working for Procter & Gamble prior to finding his home in the world of college text publishing. STEVEN
JOOS In particular, Steve is excited about the role of the written word as it has been given new life through technology. One of his main hobbies deals with hypertext and the layers of substance it creates. To that end, he has a growing web site, although he is also attempting to publish a traditional, scholarly article on one author's attempt to write the blues in novel form. DORGER Prior to joining South-Western Sarah held a variety of positions in education and business. She worked as an Adjunct Professor of English at the University of Cincinnati-Clermont College, an English Teacher at Wyoming High School, a Sales Representative at Rorer Pharmaceuticals, and a Methods Analyst at Western Southern Life Insurance Company. Sarah received an MS in Education from the University of Dayton, and a BA in English at the University of Cincinnati. She also participated in the Ohio Writing Project at Miami University. VICKI
HUNTER ROSS The recipient of both Academic and Special Abilities Scholarships, Vicki's liberal arts education included a double major in Piano and Voice and a minor in Fine Art. Vicki continued studies in piano at the University of Cincinnati's College-Conservatory of Music; and was auditioned by the late Richard Collins, Artistic Director of the Cincinnati Ballet, to win a position as a piano accompanist in CCM's Dance Division. She has sung with both the Cleveland Orchestra Chorus and The Cincinnati Symphony's May Festival Chorus and Chamber Choir. Vicki has also worked as a professional photographer. In 1990, she was awarded the Bronze Quill, Award of Excellence for Black & White Photography from the International Association of Business Communicators and received a First Place Award for Black & White Photography in the Cincinnati Editors Association Publications Contest. In addition to a love of photography, Vicki's other interests include nature, wildlife, writing, and a fascination with the publishing process.
