The Market Forces of Supply and Demand

  1. Link to the Online auction site U-Auction-It(tm). What sorts of goods and services canbe bought and sold here? Read the rules for a regular auction. Describe how a regular auction works in your own words. What type of market does this site most resemble? Explain.

You can sell anything you want. Autos, Collecting, Computer hardware and software, Jewelry, Sporting Goods, and General Merchandise are the areas listed. A regular auction works by a seller offering an item, setting a minimum starting bid and an ending date. The item goes to the highest bidder by the ending date. The site most resembles a competitive market.

  2. Find other sites devoted to auctions.
