South-Western's Economics Tutorial Software Version 4.1.2 5/12/98 System Requirements --------------------------------------------- Hardware and software requirements are Microsoft Windows 3.1 or higher, a hard drive with 3 megabytes of free disk space, 4 megabytes of RAM memory, a mouse or other pointing device, and a Windows compatible graphics adapter card. Installation --------------------------------------------- Install the Economics Tutorial by running INSTALL.EXE under Windows 3.1 or newer. Single User Installation --------------------------------------------- The Economics Tutorial is normally installed on the hard disk of a stand-alone computer or workstation for use by a single user. To install, place the installation diskette into a floppy drive, make that drive current, and type INSTALL. Network Installation --------------------------------------------- If you are a computer lab tech or manager attempting to setup Economics Tutorial in your lab, run INSTALL to a subdirectory on a network drive, then make it read-only. Only the file ET.EXE is updated during student use, so each student must have their own copy, either on a floppy disk or in a unique subdirectory. All of the other files may be shared. ET.EXE should be removed from the shared subdirectory. Add an icon to start from the ET.EXE location with a path to the shared location. Reinstallation --------------------------------------------- If you reinstall the Economics Tutorial into a subdirectory with an existing ET.EXE, all of the answers recorded will be overwritten with an empty file. If you need the answers, copy ET.EXE to another destination first, or use the backup option in the INSTALL procedure.
