News Story

Once negatively associated with violence, profanity, hip-hop artists have become successful entrepreneurs, building businesses around their names, from restaurants and clothing lines to beverage companies. They have also come into the limelight for their unconcealed ambition and unchecked materialism as displayed in the brazen manner in which they spend their earnings. Clearly, many of them define themselves by wealth and success. The article raises the question of whether these artists will influence the business attitudes of other entrepreneurs and shape how entrepreneurs in general are perceived.

Questions
1.

Is the entrepreneurial success of hip-hop artists a short-term phenomenon or a vocational match?

2.

Is showing off your wealth harming the good image of entrepreneurs?
